台湾の端午節は旧暦5月5日です。 各地で開催されるドラゴンボートレースの行事や粽(チマキ)を食べる日です。紀元前3世紀、楚の国の故事。人々に尊敬されていた政治家、屈原が失脚し、川に身を投げて亡くなると、これを悲しんだ人々が川にちまきを投げ、その遺体を魚が食べないようにした、という話が伝わっています。
