坂本龍一（1952年1月17日生まれ – 2023年3月28日没）は、日本を代表する音楽家、作曲家、ピアニスト、そして俳優として知られています。1978年に坂本はYMO（イエロー・マジック・オーケストラ）のメンバーとしてデビューし、電子音楽の先駆者として国際的な成功を収めました。彼のソロ活動も非常に多岐にわたり、1983年の映画『戦場のメリークリスマス』の音楽でアカデミー賞を受賞しました。また、1987年の『ラストエンペラー』でアカデミー賞、ゴールデングローブ賞、グラミー賞を受賞し、彼の作曲家としての地位を確固たるものにしました。坂本は環境問題や平和活動にも積極的に取り組み、多くのチャリティーイベントやキャンペーンに参加しました。その音楽はクラシック、ポップ、電子音楽、環境音楽など多岐にわたり、常に新しい音楽表現を追求し続けました。彼の影響力は今なお世界中の音楽家やリスナーに影響を与え続けています。
