まず、営業利益とは、売上から商品コスト(売上原価)と経費(販売管理費)を差し引いた利益のことを指します。つまり、企業が本業の営業活動から得る純粋な利益です。
しかし、売上が伸びても利益が減るケースがあります。例えば、バーゲンで販売すると単価が下がり、利益率が低下します。また、原材料費や人件費が上昇すると、利益が圧迫されます。
