大阪メトロの「動物園前」駅。名前だけ聞くと、みんな天王寺動物園へ向かうように思えますが、実際はちょっと違います。

北側の出口から出る人の多くは、新世界やジャンジャン横丁へ。一方で、南側へ出る人たちは、西成のディープゾーンへと歩き出します。

観光地と生活の街が入り混じるこのエリアは、まさに“大阪のオッチャンタウン”。いっそ駅名を「オッチャン前」にしてしまってもいいくらいです（笑）。
