8ビート

ロックやポップスなどで使用されるもっとも一般的なリズムパターンがこの8ビートです。その名の通り、8分音符で構成されたパターンで、多くのドラマーが一番最初に覚えるリズムパターンとされることも多いです。

基本的な叩き方は、ハイハットで8分音符を刻み、2拍目（3回目）と4拍目（7回目）にスネアを入れるというもの。1拍目（1回目）と3拍目（5回目）にバスドラムを入れるのも定番のパターンです。

16ビート

こちらもロックやポップスをはじめとして、ファンクなどでも使用されることの多い定番のリズムパターンです。8ビートと同じく、その名の通り16分音符をベースとしたリズムになります。

16ビートにはさまざまなパターンがありますが、ベースとなるのが16分音符であり、8ビートと同様に2拍目と4拍目にスネアでアクセントを入れるというパターンが基本となります。
